Dr. Marie Royer graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1996 and began practice in Santa Cruz. She soon began to teach chiropractic technique and diagnosis classes at Palmer West while in private practice. Dr. Royer independently taught board review to students and doctors at a number of chiropractic colleges and universities across the United States, training these chiropractors to pass various state and national chiropractic boards and become licensed to practice.
Dr. Royer attributes her success as a doctor, healer and teacher to her ability to listen to her patients & students, and meet them where they are. She has learned to allow her intuition to intermingle with her professional skills and knowledge. In this way, she calls on her experience as well as a wide base of technical information in the fields of anatomy, physiology, chiropractic, disease, and most importantly wellness.
Dr. Royer began to add craniosacral work and reiki to her practice as she noticed some patients' need for gentler modalities. She found that working with these energy techniques opened up new paths for listening to and connecting with patients, further enriching her practice. Dr. Royer now practices an integration of traditional chiropractic adjustments, myofascial work, specific muscle stretching, exercise, craniosacral and reiki.
